“Paws for a Cause: Bridget’s Passion for Animals and Sterila’s Mission in Santorini”
Hello, I’m Bridget Enderli, and from the earliest moments of my life, animals have been an integral part of my journey. My deep-seated passion for the well-being of our furry friends has led me to adopt, rescue, and actively participate in volunteer work at animal rescue centers. Today, I am excited to share a cause that has touched my heart profoundly – Sterila, an organization dedicated to ending the suffering of stray cats on the beautiful Santorini island.
Growing up with a house full of pets, I’ve witnessed firsthand the joy and unconditional love that animals bring into our lives. Volunteering at rescue centers has given me insight into the tireless dedication required to make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
My connection with Sterila deepened during a visit to Greece. Meeting Pia Henzelmann, one of the many passionate volunteers, and caring for her two rescued cats, Bruce and Jackie, brought me closer to the organization’s impactful work. Sterila, founded in November 2016, has been working relentlessly to address the stray cat population on Santorini. The organization focuses on sterilization efforts and has successfully sterilized over 4,000 cats and facilitated 600 adoptions since 2023.
The Cook Strait Swim:
On a parallel front, my husband, Toni Enderli, an incredible swimmer, has continuously raised funds for various charities. This year, in February, he is embarking on the challenging Cook Strait Swim. Toni approached me with the idea of raising money for an organization close to my heart, and without hesitation, I chose Sterila.
